Alex Gordon for Aaron Hill?

Postby Padres Fan » Thu Apr 16, 2009 11:09 am

I am in first place in my Yahoo 12 teanm roto league, and wondering if it is wise if I dropped Alex Gordon for Aaron Hill.

I am currently playing Emilio Bonifacio at 3rd and Pedroia at 2b, and on waivers other 3b options are the older players like Lowell, Glaus and Fields

Aquiring Hill will essentially give me 3 2b

I would give Gordon a little more time to see what he can do. I have Bonifacio on my team as well and I don't trust him for the rest of the season. Hill has been hot lately, but you seem pretty set at second with Pedroia.

I agree with with the post above. You seem set at second base for now. I would just wait a little longer to see how things go.

I agree. Hold up. You're set at 2B, and if Bonifacio becomes a problem you can give Gordon a look. I can't see Gordon being snapped up in a 12 team league, so hopefully Bonifacio regresses one way just when Gordon goes the other way - that would be pretty ideal.

hang on a little longer, gordon is suppose to be better than what he has been so far. if he is still stinking it up in a few weeks, then i would maybe look to drop him

Not a believer in Gordon yet, but I'm shopping Bonifacio like it's 1929 the day before the stock market crashes.

Gordon's ceiling higher than Hill's -- yes, we have been hearing as much for some time now. Also, Bonofacio will struggle at some point this year, so keeping Gordon in tow is wise that way too.

thanks for the post on my question, and as promised, I am here to check out yours. Unfortunately, I do not think I can add too mcuh to this conversation. I agree with holding on to gordon and waiting it out. Bonafacio is a nice story, but will it last. Gordon has potential to be really solid, so I would hold out.

I'd keep Gordon. It might take him a while to get around the hip tightness, but his potential is better than Hill's. You already have Pedroia, but if you want Hill, Pettitte is more expendable than Gordon.
