I think it's in Tillman's best interests to stay in minors until August/September. Of course this is the season where we've seen Porcello, Cahill and Anderson make opening day rosters.
David Hernandez is one name that I can think of as a possible callup. He's not an upside guy and although he also pitched at AA last year he's 3 yrs older. And you don't run the risk of sidetracking Tillman's development.
He is at AAA and is 21. That makes him at least 3 years below league average. I think he gets a late callup but doesn't really make a longer appearance until next year.
