Carpenter for Pettitte or Lohse? Always WHIR

Head to Head Non-Keeper (10 teams) Daily Trans.

R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, K, OBP, W, L, CG, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP

C Victor Martinez
1B Prince Fielder
2B Robinson Cano
3B Chris Davis
SS Derek Jeter
OF Ryan Braun
OF B.J. Upton
OF Andre Either
UT David Ortiz
BN Adam Jones
BN Vernon Wells

SP Tim Lincecum
SP Jake Peavy
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Yovani Gallardo
SP Adam Wainwright
SP Erik Bedard
SP Chris Carpenter
RP Heath Bell
RP Brian Wilson
RP Frank Francisco
DL Trevor Hoffman

The thing I've been happiest with since my draft is my wealth of SP talent. Now with Carpenter going down, which I knew would happen, I'm lost as to who replace him with. I've thought about adding another SP as most players in my league have 7 to 8 SP on their team. I've also thought about going with six SP, three Closers, and picking up a holds guy, which I and half the league are punting at the moment. Here are my options at SP:

Kyle Lohse
Andy Pettitte
Kyle Davies
Paul Maholm
Zach Duke
Oliver Perez

These are the best SP options. Since I am stacked as far as the strikeout category goes should I grab Lohse since the rest of my staff will offset his lack of Ks or one of the others? Or should I go the other direction and grab a holds guy to focus on that category. Any help will be appreciated and I will gladly help in return. Thanks in advance.

if the rest of the league is ignoring holds, you have a great opportunity to pick up some points there. the shame with holds is that they come very infrequently. you'd have to make that call based on your feelings for hte other managers and what holds guys are available. GTWMA has a great holds thread in the Leftovers forum, so be sure to check it out. frankly, i'm surprised maholm is on the waivers, i'd grab him in a hurry.. if you don't like pirates, then i'd move to pettitte.

Can't go wrong with Davies, Maholm or Lohse (while he's pitching good).

Davies (2SP for week 3) I'd go with him.

I'd package Davis and Ethier for upgrades to your INFIELD at 3b. Go after Arod?
