Tori Hunter on the WW

Keeper league. Anybody on my team worth cutting to grab Tori?

10 team, H2H, Keeper league (8 players). 7x7 - H, R, SB, HR, RBI, AVG, OPS :: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/9, QS

C: J. Baker
1B: Pujols
2B: B. Roberts
3B: A. Ramirez
SS: Tulo
OF: M. Ordonez
OF: Soriano
OF: Cruz
UTIL: Prince Fielder (1b)
BN: J. Bruce (OF), E. Bonifacio (2B/3B), J. Upton (OF)

SP: AJ Burnett
SP: F. Liriano
RP: M. Gonzalez
RP: C. Perez
P: E. Bedard
P: C. Kershaw
P: M. Scherzer
BN: F. Carmona, Y. Gallardo, D. Price (NA), T. Hanson (NA)
DL: K. Escobar

Obviously, the choices that stick out: Bonifacio, J Upton, T. Hanson and F. Carmona.

I don't want to give up on J. Upton (as his upside is amazing). Boni has been a great "filler" at 2B and 3B. Carmona has been awful and Hanson might not even be up for a while. But w/ QS and W as cats, my league favors SP, and I'd hate to cut a SP and lose that extra start a week. I could also cut C. Perez, but he's coming up and should be the closer in a week or two.

Advice? Pass?

i think you got to cut upton on bonifacio.

if you really think upton is going to be one of your 8 keepers than cut bonifacio, but i don't think upton should be one of your 8

Looks like your OF is covered. You don't really need him it looks like and I wouldn't cut the upside here.

Especially in your pitching staff, but you have to be concerned about depth when you play iwth prospects.

I'd try to pull a quick 2 for 1 trade first.

Leave Torii on the WW. That is always a good place for him. Anyone you have to drop for him has a higher upside than he has and you don't have a need for an OF.

The waiver wire is a good place for Torii Hunter? I beg to differ. Unless your playing in a 8 team league, that would be true. However . . . a closer look shows Hunter to be the 20th best OF fantasy wise. The guy is going to hit 25 HR and steal 20 bases plus hit .285. Carmona's upside is prob is 113 K's and a 1.43 WHIP.

Dropping Carmona might not be a bad idea, but the thing you have to remember is that will leave him with only one bench pitcher.

You might want to do some trading after acquiring hunter.

He hasn't stolen 20 bases since 2005. He will turn 35 this year has been over 100 RBI's or Runs twice in his career and his HR's are on the decline. The 20th best OF is a reach for a guy past his prime and a 20/20 season is the best he can do unlike a decent number of those players (including Upton) who has the potential to do better than that. You know what you are going to get from Hunter and in a 10 team league he is at best a spot starter in your OF. Leave him on the WW and give your other guys a chance to produce. We seen just over a week of baseball so don't start dropping guys who have potential to do more for guys who are unlikely to be worth owning when the season is over.

I'd say drop Upton. Hunter is OF so getting rid of Upton shouldn't hurt you. Hunter is better anyway since he's a 20 - 20 player.

Let Torii sit, you don't have a spot for him, trade Bonifacio for a closer while he's hot.
