Trade J.Fields or E.Encarnacion? WHIR

Postby red_sox_fan » Wed Apr 15, 2009 10:27 pm

12 Team, H2H, standard scoring except OBP instead of AVG.

I really need steals so I'm trying to trade for C.Figgins. I have both Josh Fields and Edwin Encarnacion to give up. Who would be the better person to trade for Figgins? I think Fields and Encarnacion are both going to have a good year and I can't decide who to give up...

Thanks!

they'll both have good years, but i don't think Figgins' manager will even consider fields. not well known, and probably won't be any time soon. he spent a relatively high draft pick on figgins, so it'd have to be encarnacion, if anyone. ;-D

no harm in trying Fields 1st. Post your roster and maybe there is another option. Encarnacion hits in the middle of a decent Cinci lineup and Figgins is going to get you R and SB's. His avg probably will be in the .280's and he doesn't get many RBI's. If you really need SB that bad then do the trade.

If he'll take ither I'd do either since Figgy will bring in the stats you claim you need.

Post your roster (his roster) and free agent SB guys (and well good FAs or sleepers)

Here is my roster:

C: John Baker
1B: Prince Fielder
2B: Dan Uggla
3B: Josh Fields
SS: Jimmy Rollins
MI: Rafael Furcal
CI: Justin Morneau
OF: Adam Dunn, Brad Hawpe, Torii Hunter, Jayson Werth
UTIL: Travis Hafner

P: Fernando Rodney
SP: Scott Kazmir, Josh Johnson, Ryan Dempster, Johnny Cueto, Ubaldo Jimenez
RP: Brian Fuentes, Carlos Villanueva

Bench: Edwin Encarnacion, Dexter Fowler, Cristian Guzman, Scott Downs
DL: Justin Duchscherer, Kelvim Escobar

There isn't much out on the wavier wire for steals. About the best person would be Akinori Iwamura and that would cause me to sit Rollins or Furcal. Encarnacion has had a slow start so far and he has been hitting 6th in the lineup. Not much chance for runs.
