I know it's early, but the Twins big guns have looked awful. Although, I'm not worried about Liriano's struggles, Baker and Slowey are another story. I drank the kool-aid on these two and they're aren't pitching like the hype they were receiving going into this year. Slowey looks like he's throwing bp out there, and Baker tonight picked up right where he left off in spring training. Baker surrendered 4 bombs in only 4 inn...going into next week I don't even feel confident throwing these two out there. Anyone else worried?
i generally saw slowey and baker drafted around on another, which i think is accurate. liriano was overrated, but im unsure who else you're speaking of...i dont know many people who drafted nick blackburn or glen perkins and expected much.
Baker was overrated as well though in my mocks and real drafts he was going 3-4 rounds before Slowey and I'd rather have Slowey. Perkins and Blackburn did get drafted in most of my leagues and they are pitch and ditch types.
I wouldn't be too concerned about Baker just yet. The Jays have been putting up a ton of runs so far and Baker probably should've been given another rehab start. Actually, I think they were initially going to give him a couple starts but decided to get him back with the team early. I'd count this as his second rehab outing and go from there.
As a Twins fans, I love our pitchers. For fantasy purposes though, they aren't going to cut it for top of the rotation. Liriano is the best for fantasy, but post injury ????.
In the drafts I was in, they were drafted usually where they belonged to be drafted.
