He is worth adding but if you own him SELL HIGH! This is a guy who doesn't hit lefties all that well, has serious competition for playtime, is coming off an injury that suggests a late season fade. I don't want Duncan on my roster come H2H playoff time, that is for sure.
I definitely think he's rosterable at this point. He's ride the hot hand type. I am encouraged by his BB:K and his improvement (albeit in a very small sample size) against lefties this year. His power potential is for real. He certainly will have to continue to hit lefties if he wants to continue to get regular AB's, especially given his defensive difficulties. I don't see much of a "sell high" market, as most savvy owners will have their concerns, and he doesn't have "name brand" value to less savvy owners unfortunately. All that said, days off could help him stay healthy this year, and if he gets 450-500 AB's (which I think is entirely possible), I could see 30 HR's with a tolerable .270 ish BA. Of course if he keeps this hot start up and you can move him in a deal, by all means, do, because Duncan does have an extensive injury history and the risk of him wearing down certainly does exist. However, in the short term, take advantage of his playing time, hot start, and cheap power. Also, just a hunce, but I could easily see Rick Ankiel moved out of town if they become comfortable with Rasmus in CF given Ankiel being a free agent after the season and Rasmus/Ludwick/Duncan and even Joe Mather in AAA under team control beyond this year.
So I read a quote today that got me thinking, "Alright, this Chris Duncan hype has finally gone out of control."
Here it is:
Tony LaRussa wrote:“[Chris Duncan's] toughness is off the charts,” La Russa said. “You see it the way he plays, the way he runs the bases, the way he defends, the way he takes at-bats. He’s never going to give in.”
Preposterous, right? Well, I did a little research. Seems Tony knows what he's talking about. Check this out:

Who'da thunk it!?!
By Ishikawa that's a solid score! But I think you missed the RJ column, he got like 4,000.
