BIG Keeper trade WHIR

Postby TrueBlue4life » Wed Apr 15, 2009 5:00 pm

10 team w/ 6x6...normal 5x5 plus OPS for hitting and K/BB for pitching. We keep 4 players in this league for next season plus an extra two players in late rounds (which is why I have minor league players on my team) but that's not important 4 this trade, here it is:
I give: Pedroia, Felipe Lopez, Hamels
I get: Texeira, Joba, Alexei Ramirez

Here's rest of my team:
C Pablo Sandoval (SF - C,1B,3B)
1B Adam Dunn (Was - 1B,OF)
2B Dustin Pedroia (Bos - 2B)
3B Evan Longoria (TB - 3B)
SS Jhonny Peralta (Cle - SS)
CI Chipper Jones (Atl - 3B)
MI Felipe López (Ari - 2B,3B,SS,OF)
OF Carlos Beltrán (NYM - OF)
OF Matt Kemp (LAD - OF)
OF Jayson Werth (Phi - OF)
OF Coco Crisp (KC - OF)
Util Shin-Soo Choo (Cle - OF)
SP Cole Hamels (Phi - SP)
SP Francisco Liriano (Min - SP)
SP Félix Hernández (Sea - SP)
SP Erik Bedard (Sea - SP)
SP Randy Johnson (SF - SP)
RP Bobby Jenks (CWS - RP)
RP Matt Lindstrom (Fla - RP)
P Hong-Chih Kuo (LAD - SP,RP)
BN Justin Upton (Ari - OF)
BN Colby Rasmus (StL - OF)
BN Delmon Young (Min - OF)
BN Brett Wallace (StL - 3B) NA
BN Jordan Zimmermann (Was - SP) NA
BN Gordon Beckham (CWS-SS)

Should I do it? I'm leaning towards yes.

I think I keep what you've got. Teixiera might make it a good deal for you, but I don't trust Chamberlein as a starting pitcher, and I don't know if Alexei can do it this year (and probably won't be one of your four keepers). Also, you lose a MI spot to a replacement player. I think I'd stick w/ what you've got. You seem ok on HRs right now.

Thanks for help with mine. Here's my thought. I like Tex, but he's definitely a 2nd half hitter. Check out his splits. He's not as bad as Adam LaRoche, but the difference is noticeable. I like the ability of Pedroia to get on base and score runs over the course of a season better than Ramirez. I think Hamels injury does cause some concern, but so does Joba's ability to pitch 200 innings. Now, the kicker is Tex. I think Felipe Lopez is a wash.. he won't be an impact player over the course of a season.

Here's what I see if all players are healthy...

Hamels > Joba (but not by too too much)
Pedroia > Ramirez (could be a big or small difference)
Teixeira > Lopez (the difference is HUGE... if it is enough to cover the loss from the other two, then I do the trade)
