Anyone been to CITI yet? Reactions?

Postby neoforce » Wed Apr 15, 2009 1:22 pm

Done shoot me because I'm a die hard Yankee fan! I'm one of those rare ones who roots for the Mets as my second team and have been going to Shea for at least one game a year for a long, long time. I won't make it to Citi until June, and was wondering if anyone here has had a chance to see it yet.

There has been lots of stuff on WFAN about the stadium being a shrine for Jackie Robinson and the Dodgers but should have had more about the '69, '86 team. It was like they forgot their own history.

Any reaction from cafe folks who have been there?
There are a few things with the New York Yankees that never change. That's pride, tradition, and most of all, we have the greatest fans in the world. -Derek Jeter, 9/21/08 -- last words from old Yankee Stadium

I will not make my first appearance at Citi Field until June...

I would say that from afar, my biggest gripe is not the attention being paid to the Brooklyn Dodgers but rather the lack of attention being paid to the New York Giants. I don't think the color scheme of the walls and seats is enough. And the Mets apparently have a Hall of Fame being built in center field that is supposed to appease the fans who want more attention paid to '69 and '86.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I've been to 4 games so far, and I'm a fan. Amazinz brings up a big gripe, though I heard that they are working on putting more Mets memorabilia in. There really isn't a bad seat in the house, and there is plenty of space and amenities. Two thumbs up for me. ;-D
