Dice-K / Cliff Lee - Bigger Bust?

Postby raysfan4life » Wed Apr 15, 2009 1:14 pm

I've got both these schmos, and I'm paying for it. Trying a pitching and speed strategy, which I think would work, had I chosen the right pitchers. So far, Lincecum, Lee and Dice-K have all disappointed. So who is the bigger bust after 2 starts? Lee or Dice-K?

More to the point, which one do you think will get back on track first (if either of them do at all)?

Daisuke for me. His control is absolutely horrible.

Lee will rebound - not as good as last year of course, but he will be decent.

How the hell does Suc-K win the MVP in the WBC, then overnight he can't pitch? I mean, I know about his pitch counts, and nibbling, and high WHIP and so on, but c'mon. The guy dominates the WBC, and now he can't get through an inning. Workload, Schmorkload -this guy threw like a thousand innings a year in Japan.

Worst part is, apparently he told the press after his stellat 1 IP last night that his arm is fine. So, he's not hurt - he just sucks.

I really dislike Dice-K, last year I feel that he was lucky..he got out of so many jams, I just don't see him doing that again.

That's two votes to none for Suc-K

What about Wang, he's sucking it up too and he doesn't even get strikeouts.

I love threads like these. It's barely 2 weeks into the season, and we get sheer brilliance like this. If you expected a repeat performance from Lee this year, you deserve to get owned. Dice - K was just placed on the DL today .... so apparently, his arm is in fact bothering him. Yes, Lincecum hasn't been very good in his first 2 outings ...... so, when you dropping him? Or when are you ready to declare him a bust? Week 3? :*)

many ppl predicted diceK would blow up (bad way) this yr. but those predictions i saw were before the wbc, and I saw a bit of him on that, and thought he was pretty solid.

then mlb season rolls around and he completely sucks. frustrating to own because he'd do well since he team is pretty good. diceK has all the hype and the offense to do very well, but isnt cutting it right now.... but its only the 2nd week or so, so that's pretty early to judge how he'd do going forward.

dont think either is a bust right now since its quite early in the season, they could both pull of 10-0 runs....

based on expectations, I think Dice-K will be the bigger disappointment. It seems the market priced in a drop in Lee's production, but a lot of folks were high on dice-k. dude can only throw 5BB/9IP for so long before it becomes a problem.

Also, I don't think this post belongs here. This Definitely is not an Injury or player update.
