Smoltz is currently a FA in my 12-team mixed CBS points league. What are your thoughts on picking him up?

I had him last year and he was great *while healthy* .... would YOU take a chance on him this year?

Does Smoltz have more fantasy value the rest of the year, all things considered, than Brad Penny?

I've had him stashed on my DL since the draft. The upside is still there for him to be a stud. He's been throwing well in bullpen sessions so give him a chance if you've got an empty DL spot.

it doesn't matter. the fact that he wasn't drafted in every 12 team mixed league is a bit ridiculous.

Certainly, I agree with that, but is it then limiting labeling him only a "DL stash"? Being that he's coming off the DL so soon, seems like a short-sale.

John Smoltz is the Chuck Norris of baseball. I'd hold a spot for him if the dude was in a wheelchair.
