M.Cabrera,Gordon, Ordonez for Wrigh

Postby Delino Deshields » Wed Apr 15, 2009 11:56 am

Head to head, 8x8 16 teams league

I get

Garrett Atkins 1B, 3B
David Wright 3B
Johnny Damon CF, LF

for

M.Cabrera 1B, 3B
A.Gordon 3B
M.Ordonez RF

Damon would be a good addition since my CFs are Dexter Fowler and Lastings Milledge who as been sent to AAA .

I already have Abreu at RF

Is this a good deal for me ?

I wouldn't move Miggy for anyone. Do you play each OF position separately? I think Fowler will end up full time soon.

Help me?

Miggy and D. Wright cancel eachother out. So you're trading Maggs and Alex Gordan for Atkins and Damon. Don't do it. Atkins has been regressing for 3 years, looks to be on that path this year.

Gordon vs Atkins

Gordon is struggling I think about jumping out of his bandwagon ( for this year). Atkins is struggling too... but is more versatile since he can play 1B and 3B. He is more proven so I give the edge to Atkins.

Magglio vs Damon

Magglio is a better hitter for sure, he got more power , produce a lot of RBIs and is batting is consistent. And Damon provides me some speed to. But I give the edge to Magglio

Wright vs Cabrera

I love Miguel but wright is give me the SB that Miguel is not. But Miguel will hit more long balls. It's a wash IMO.

But I have Bobby Abreu who fill that RF (Ordonez's) spot and leave util spot to another hitter. I have a good bench (Hank Balock, Yadier Molina, Dexter Fowler,Aaron Hill, Lastings Milledge :~( ).

Based on team needs I think it makes sense.

Well, I would say that the numbers that Miggy and Wright put up are similar. If you compare the other four in the deal, Maggs and Gordon have the advantage. The situation with Damon in the rotating outfield is not a great one. He may not have great numbers if Swisher keeps hitting great. Also, Atkins numbers have been taking a decline over the last couple of years.

Drop Milledge . . .

Atkins has not proven much, as has Gordan. But Gordan has more upside. Gordan may steal 15-20 bases and will for as much power as Atkins. Atkins will post a better AVG. Advantage - Gordan
