I say go with Loney for his .290 hitting ability, you already have enough HRs. Plus Loney is in the cleanup spot now.

yeah what he said. thome's a much bigger DL risk and you don't need both him and hafner bringing down your avg.

definitely go with loney. the drop in home runs won't be as hurtful as the drop in average if you go with thome

Well, both Hafner and Thome are DL risks. Loney is performing pretty well right now with a .290 avg. Also, he is going to be batting clean up, which will help the stats.

Gonna go against the grain here and say Thome. As a guy you're just going to be plugging in periodically, I'd rather throw Thome in there for a spot start. He's still a useful guy and is undervalued because of his lack of position eligibility. With 2 UTIL spots, you should be able to find room for him when you need him.
