Here is his team, can you see any counter options for Soriano?

C-McCann
1B-Lee
2B-KInsler
3B-Aramis
SS-Hanley
LF-Manny
CF-Damon
RF-Upton
UTI-Ortiz
UTI-MCab
BN-Pedroia
BN-Zimmerman

SP-Dice K
SP-Vazquez
SP-Lester
RP-Jenks
RP-Soria
RP-Cordero
P-Floyd
P-Morrow
P-Parra
BN-Billingsley
BN-Gallardo
BN-Hamels
BN-Kazmir
BN-Slowey
BN-Beckett

Should I ask for maybe Billingsley instead? Or you guys have any other ideas?

I think Ortiz is pretty much done, but you need an ace. If you're going to trade Soriano though, I would try to get a SP thats actually healthy and pitching well right now.

Really tough as I think it's close and you could use some help at SP, but I don't want Ortiz right now. I'd take a pass on this one. A healthy Soriano will be money this year.

Good luck!

Thanks for your help.

I'd stand pat. Hamels and Ortiz are both a little more questionable than Soriano, and while your pitching isn't overly strong, it is also not too bad and has potential to be good. Stay put.

Thanks for the reply on mine.

This one is a tough call - but I don't like the risk. You could definitely use the arm - but I think Ortiz is well past his prime. I wouldn't swap Hamels for Soriano - so I would sit tight.

I do like Billingsly - but I'm not a fan of Ortiz. I'm wouldn't be overly excited to take on any of his OF.

Thanks for your help a minute ago -

I say stick with the consensus and hold off. I still have a bad feeling about Soriano, been burned too many times I guess. But that said, Hamels needs to get his stuff together (still think he'll be fine in another start or two) and while Papi might be consistent it doesn't look like he's anywhere near a Soriano replacement.

Is it crazy to counter by asking for Billingsley/Manny? Beckett/Manny? He's obviously got plenty of pitching depth to throw around. In fact, his team is ridiculous. Wow.

Keep us posted though. You can see from the all the response that this is an offer that's really brought out some opinions.

I agree. Ortiz' value took a massive hit when Manny left and I highly doubt he ever hits 40 HR or over. 300 again. Like everyone has said, with how hot Soriano is right now, you could probably get a better value in return or atleast something without such massive risks attached to it.

Thanks for seeing ine.

I would not do it. I am really high on fonso this year (like it's hard to be high on him!), and I have to say that I am not there yet with the Hamels train, and Ortiz has the potnetial to disappiont once again IMO...

I would stick with what you've got.
This game means nothing.... unless I'm winning!
