its a fair trade no doubt and you need an Ace + more power but there is some concern over Hamels arm if you feel comfortable with it then make the trade if not shop around im sure Soriano will get you a ace + power

I'd do it!

you really need some SP help and Ortiz or hawpe can always fill in for Soriano's power/RBIs.

Help me?

Yes I'd do this trade. You can put C.Jackson or Dukes in Fonso's OF spot or move Hart/McLouth to the OF spot and use Ortiz at UTL. Plus Hamels is an ace!
I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!

thanks for mine:

Lets see... those are two guys I'm very low on this year (Hamels with injury concerns, Ortiz with Mannyless concerns). Man, I'd hate to be offered that. Personally I guess on pure potential you probably have to take it. I'd do it and then try to trade the two pieces to improve elsewhere.

Just something to also consider though: your team just lost lasting milledge so... OF might be getting a lil thin.

you do need some help at SP, but i'm not too sure of this one. soriano -- if he stays healthy -- will be a top contributor this year, way more than ortiz could be (ortiz not being built for speed :-b )

and hamels, well, there is a lot of mileage on that arm. i'm not saying i believe in the whole verducci thing, but there is some logic to it. he would be an improvement over pelfrey or the like...

this is tough to call but i'd hang tight for now. in my stingy opinion, i think you're giving up too much given the possible returns around hte players you'd be getting.

why not try to move hawpe for a lesser known but trustworthy pitcher?

wouldn't do it.. Hamels is a bust this year same with Ortiz... Ortiz may put up 30/100 but you can pick up Konerko or Thome from WW for that or get them way cheaper. Soriano is something special should push 35/30 season

Its a move that you should consider, but personally I would look around and see what a stud like Soriano can bring back as far a power + SP

I would lay off. Too much risk in what you're getting. If the dude still wants to trade after Hamels pitches his next start and Hamels looks good...I say go ahead and take it.
