Milledge sent to minors

Center fielder Lastings Milledge has been sent down to Triple-A Syracuse, the Nationals announced this afternoon.

As the lead-off hitter, Milledge has gotten off to a slow start, hitting just .167 with one run and one RBI in the Nationals first seven games.

He has four hits, all singles, and has struck out 10 times with a walk and an on-base percentage of just .231

Milledge's play in the field has been brought into question as well. Although he hasn't been charged with an error, Milledge has misplayed a few balls, which led to runs.

I just spent a ton for him in my NL only keeper and if he's not called up within 4 weeks I lose him completely.

He'll be back. He wasn't hitting and playing bad defense. Hopefully he can clear his head and get back to doing what he is supposed to be doing.

Now only if they can send JUP down to AAA for a wake up call.

This is also why I completely avoided Milledge. There was no way I'd burn a 10-12 rounder on him.

He went in the 11th equivalent round (121 overall) in my keeper league which I thought was a bit early as well given the crowded OF and his lack of plate discipline.

This is awesome news. I own Nick Johnson and Elijah Dukes in our league (NL Only, 25-man rosters). In fact, I got Dukes as a free agent yesterday.
