Webb/Weeks for my Papelbon/Uggla- always WHIR

Postby The Mighty Trow » Tue Apr 14, 2009 11:48 am

The way I see it I don't need Uggla's power but I do need Week's speed, and Webb should go a long in way in stopping me from playing Cueto and Carmona :-P (and insurance against Lester !+) )
I have a hunch he has a few other fish on the line, so this is something of a fast track decision for me. I'm looking to get as much insight into this as possible. Your thoughts?

I welcome all opinions and will respond to any questions/links you leave. ;-D

10 team, 6x6 (OBP in place of AVG, Triples, Quality Starts) keep 3

me:
c- Iannetta
1b- Teixeria (Loney)
2b- Uggla (Kendrick)
3b- Huff (Gordon)
ss- Hanley
of- Soriano, Bay, Cruz (Burrell, Choo, J. Upton)
utility - pick two in parenthesis
sp- Shields, Lester, Gallardo, Vazquez, Young, Cueto, Carmona, Davies
rp- Papelbon, Soria, Morrow, Corpas (zumaya - DL)

him:
c- Doumit (B. Molina)
1b- Dunn
2b- Weeks (Johnson)
3b- Guillen (Zimmerman)
ss- Jeter (Hardy)
of- Beltran, Holliday, Rios (Bradley, Abreu, Hafner-util)
utility- pick two in parenthesis
sp- Lincecum, Webb, Haren, Greinke, Jimenez, R. Johnson, Bedard, Baker
rp- Lidge, Arredondo, Downs (Hoffman - DL)

Since it's OBP I'd go for it. Weeks always walks a TON and you need an ace. You should be covered for saves between Soria and Morrow.

Thanks for helping with mine.

yes do this

Uggla and Weeks will have comparable AVG, like you said you're ok in HR and you need an ACE hopefully the time off will give Webb the rest his arm needed. Plus elite closers are super overrated in value. Good buy low on Webb

Yes, I would do this. Gives you an ace and Uggla is overrated. Ilike it.

thanks for your help with mine

I would do this as well. However, in a 10 teamer, I'm sure you can find comparable speed (around 20 swipes) to Weeks. But as someone mentioned OBP improves, speed improves, and your power should be ok.

Help me out please?

there are a few one-dimensional speed guys like bourn on the waivers, but i'm not interested in giving up a spot for that sort of production. i'd prefer all-around help. or something close to it.

I would pull the trigger. Uggla is over rated to me. He goes on hot streaks but he is too inconsistent. Webb gives you an ace and weeks will help with obp. Do it!

Please help!
