Illegal lineup?

I need to use Commsioner priv's at CBS to drop a player from an owner's lineup for week 2.

He had a guy come off the DL without his knowledge and made his lineup illegal. He wanted to drop Rafael Soriano to fix his lineup and did, but not until after lineups locked for the week on Monday therefore he had one too many reserve players, making him illegal for all of period 2.

I went to the add/drop and chose "period 2" but Soriano does not show up, what to do?

I would go to the post a question section of the help center over at CBS and ask them (Click on help on the league page)

This happened in our league last week and the the commish did a scoring adjustment for the affected stats. Not exactly correcting the situation but giving him the stats that he would have earned.

This illegal lineup thing is one that I don't like about CBS leagues.

Thx for all the help guys, I made the player a FA for week 2, hence he was not on the roster for the owner that was illegal.

illegal lineups? that seems a bit ridiculous. i like Yahoo because keeping a guy on the DL that is active is a viable strategy. what would happen if you didn't want to play a catcher?

It's a strategy but it kind of defeats the purpose of limiting bench spots. In a perfect world (for me at least) your roster would be locked from making other moves if you had a player that had to be removed from the DL. Pretty much ensuring that the guy that is online updating his roster takes care of his DL'd player while the guy that is traveling doesn't get nailed by an illegal lineup.

I can understand to an extent requiring a full lineup in a roto league so a guy couldn't just play for ratios. But in a pts league there really isn't any benefit to not starting a guy. Over a significant sample size every MLB starter easily scores positive pts in every format that I've seen (yes there probably is some strange formats).

It's kinda what happens in baseball... pitchers aren't taken off the DL until their next start to keep the "extra" lineup spot, right?
