Does the Mets New Stadium Impact Your Team?

Baseball Tonight showed the massive outfield, the deep center field. Are you expecting less HR's for Beltran, Wright and Delgado? How does this affect their stats?

I don't think there will be a major impact on the fantasy stats for Wright or Beltran at all. Sure the dimensions make hitting HR's more difficult but you will also see more hits, more doubles and more runs scored as a result. Delgado's lack of speed on the other hand will be a disadvantage. He also hits a lot of balls to centrefield and these will struggle to get out at this ballpark.

I would also say that one person who this park will undoubtedly help will be Johan. His one small problem over the years has been giving up too many homers so he should absolutely dominate when pitching here.

Well I think it's going to play as a pitchers park but they say it will take months to truly see how it plays with wind direction and such. I do think with the extra space it should allow Reyes to get more triples, which would lead to more runs.

Thats what I was going to say many more triples from Reyes

It will also help out as NZ said Johan who was giving up many home runs. Should benefit Maine the same way too.

So, there has been speculation about this for a while. I did bump up Mets pitchers a bit in my rankings because of this, but not tremendously.

Bottom line is that it looks like it could be more of a pitchers park, but as was already said in this thread, no one will know until we have enough data.
