I offered this trade and the guy laughed at me...

I offered Aviles+Baker for Tulowitzki and the guy laughed and told me to get serious. I thought I was serious!? Alives is a decent infielder who qualifies at 2b and ss. And Scott Baker is coming off a good year and who's projected to have an even better one. So you tell me if I'm wrong! (Yahoo h2h 12-team league)

Here's my squad:

Pablo Sandoval
Adrián González
José López
David Wright
Mike Aviles
Carlos Quentin
Carlos Beltrán
Adam Dunn
Cameron Maybin
Chris Davis
Nick Swisher

Scott Kazmir
Fausto Carmona
Mariano Rivera
Kerry Wood
Brandon Morrow
Francisco Cordero
Dan Haren
Josh Johnson
Justin Verlander
Joe Saunders
Ervin Santana
Scott Baker

His squad:

Ryan Doumit
Justin Morneau
Aaron Hill
Evan Longoria
Troy Tulowitzki
Jason Bay
Jacoby Ellsbury
Travis Snider
Adam Lind
Jim Thome
Joey Votto

Aviles stinks and is a HUGE downgrade from Tulo. And Baker is gimpy. I don't blame him for declining. If you really want Tulo counter wtih Lopez/Baker for him. That would be a lot closer IMO.

I'm not sure I'd laugh at the trade, but I understand why another manager wouldn't want to get near it. Tulo is looking good this year. Aviles is struggling and Baker is just coming off the DL. Where's the upside for him? Even not considering how they're currently playing, Tulo's ADP was around 70. Aviles 132 and Baker 165. I think your offer was a reach.

It's only a week into the season and already people are dismissing Aviles.

Then why are you trying to trade him? Unless you think that Tulowitzki is clearly the better player. Which is what the other guy thinks too. He also doesnt need SP to the point where he'd have to potentially downgrade at a thin position. Its not a bad offer but I can completely understand why he wouldnt make it.

If you gave him Wood for Tulo I would be laughing back, your original trade offer was alot better then the one you did. Great job on the trade
