Where does he rank among catchers? I'm using Salty and worried about his play time..and he's been struggling.

I'll rank him 13th

Way Behind: vmar, martin, soto, mcann
Behind: mauer, doumit, posada, iannnetta, posada, sandoval
Closely behind: molina, napoli

AJ, Shoppach, Salty, Inge, him all around the same IMO... different abillities

So far he's just sitting against lefties with Ronny Paulino getting the starts then.

I have him in both my leagues, one in which I drafted Weiters and one in which I missed the boat on catchers (Got him as a FA). I'm pairing him with Shoppach/Pierzinsky types to get the max at bats out of my catcher position. In my H2H league with a smaller roster limit it's just Baker until Weiters gets called up.

I like him alot and would rank him where J24Jags has him, around 10th.

I like him. He gets on base a lot and has a little pop (I see 12-15 HRs given 450 ABs). I'm just not sure about his average. He consistently hit for a solid average in the minors, but hit BABIP has been unsustainable. Hopefully he ends up around .280, but it could just as easily be .260. He draws BBs though, so he's nice in OBP or OPS leagues. He's been batting 2nd too, which is huge.

I wish I had room for him to slide in for Iannetta right now. Chris is stinking it up!

I think Baker is going to surprise people with the amount of runs he scores. I don't know how well he runs really, as I haven't seen too much of him, but Bonifacio and he have been scoring runs in the bunches in front of Hanley and Uggla. I really think the Marlins are going to be good this year, maybe even the team to beat in the NL. They have so much potential.

i say yes.

Baker is one of those back end catchers (from around 9-16) that are all the same and you should pick up and ride their hot streaks. right now he is seeing the ball well. He won't play against lefties, though.
