Anyone with insight as to what's wrong with my mancrush?

Horrible stats thus far and he is not a notorious slow starter by any means!!!

PS: Just traded Uggla and Rafael Soriano for M.Holliday this second :)

After 7 games last season he was batting .192 with 1 HR and 3 RBI.

Patience is not the problem...rather, it's the fact that his home park is the Colliseum! And this slow start only adds to my frustration..You're right though....breathe in breathe out!

Can't wait til the A's are out of contention by mid May so that they will trade Matty to the Red Sox, or the Mets! :) wahooo or any other team that plays in a band box {too bad the Rangers' outfield is already pretty crowded :(}

He's been sick so that could be why.

he was sick and he's had limited experience with AL pitching. he's only seen most of the pitchers interleague play and in the post season. i'm not even remotely worried yet.

It's the first week of the season and he's been sick. I'm not worried. While I don't expect him to repeat his Colorado numbers, he's still a very good bet for 300-25-100-100-15 or thereabouts, with upside for more (especially if he gets traded from Oakland into a better hitters park).

He'll be fine.

He better be fine.
If Ozzie Smith can make the Hall, why can't Rey Ordóñez?
