Even I knew that Hanley was the only reason they male this trade. So it is a wash because they were dumping salary AND had to have Hanley as the cornerstone.

Even if you take out 2007, he still has a -3.3 career UZR/150, which is slightly below average. He's not
bad defensively, but he's not especially good either, so it shouldn't count as one of his tools.
I do not think Hanley is 5-tool either. I was merely saying he is not as bad defensively as the rep he got from that one bad year. There seems to be a popular belief floating around that he should or is going to have to move off of shortstop sooner than later because of his defense is terrible there and its not true most likely.

Well, he should stick at SS, as long as he doesn't get older. Or bigger.
