Rafael Soriano gets save for ATL - importance?

Postby Bjorne Greece » Sun Apr 12, 2009 6:48 pm

Is there any significance to the fact that Soriano got the save for the Braves today?

Gonzalez has pitched in consecutive days before today, so they might have been giving him rest. But Soriano has pitched much better so far, and this is his third day pitching in a row

True. Gonzalez is still the "closer" though, I'd say. Gonzalez pitched on back to back days, and threw a lot of pitches Friday night. There is absolutely no way right now that anybody besides Soriano or Gonzalez is getting a save-op for the Braves, no matter how tired. Therefore, Soriano pitched.

No one else should be used out of that pen in any situation after that Philly game. Those pieces of crap cost me a Vazquez win.
