Is the waiver wire grass greener? Talk me off the edge!

I'm in a 10 team 5 keeper that is a points based (non roto, and it's weighted toward pitchers in my opinion), we just converted up from a 3 keeper to five for next year, I feel I drafted well and like my chances, but I do feel a little naked with my pitchers and I'm considering a drop or two to bolster my bully, Any and all input you have would be great as this is my second season and I want to improve on my second place finish from last year.

Here's my team:
Start 1 of each position with 3 OF and a Utility spot (1400 total games played per year)k

C Bengie Molina, Matt Wieters
1B Prince Fielder, Aubrey Huff
2B Brian Roberts, Howie Kendrick
SS Troy Tulowitzki
3B Adrian Beltre, Edwin Encarnacion (Arod on DL)
OF Ryan Braun, Carlos Beltran, Jayson Werth, Corey Hart, Shin-Soo Choo

5 SP's 3 RP's (1350 total innings on the year)
SP CC Sabathia, Scott Kazmir, Jon Lester, Scott Baker, John Maine
RP Joba Chamberlain (can play him as one of my RP's to get an extra starter spot), Heath Bell, Fernando Rodney, Trevor Hoffman (IR spot 2)

My main question concerns the pickup of pitchers like Ubaldo Jimenez, and Paul Maholm, I like both of these guys and would like to add both before the rest of the dummies in my league figure out their worth, should I drop any of my guys to make this happen? Right now I'm leaning toward ditching Encarnaciion for Jimenez (since Huff has 3b elidgable as well) but cant figure out who else is easily expendable to make room? Also if you had to pick one guy which would it be?

I can post my scoring system if asked, I just wanted to make this as short as possible thanks for the help! ;-D

I really like Jimenez this year and I think he is playing for a team that will put up the runs he needs to get a few more wins this year. I would drop Encarnacion in a heartbeat for him, go with Huff or Beltre at third until Arod is back on the field. Jimenez is to good to be on the wire.

I like Maholm to, but the fact that he pitches for the Pirates downgrades him a bit.

yeah I have high hopes for Encarnacion this year but I think I need the pitching more. I also have Chris Davis calling my name from the Wire lol, he could take the Huff spot but not the way he's been swinging the stick. Surprised by how much talent was left post draft.

What's up with Encarnacion? Is he the fulltime starter?

Anyways, Ubaldo Jimenez is a special pitcher. When he is under control he is not even hittable. Grab him.

This is just my opinion...but your relief pitching sucks. Instead of droppin Edwin you think you could flip him for a closer. Maybe middle level dude. But someone who has a job. You could even push Beltre as well.

But if you do not want to do that consider two things: UJ is great when he is on. When he is off he can kill.
Maholm while not always getting you the wins does give you good ratios (low Ks). With CC, Lester you have good teams with excellent closers. And Kaz. They should balance out your wins if you go Maholm style.

Hope it helps
