Evan Longoria - 100 HR?

Postby Matt_Domsic » Sun Apr 12, 2009 4:34 pm

This is a dead serious question... will Longoria hit 100 home runs this year?

That's so funny I forgot to laugh.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

100? You're selling him short...he has 5 in 6 games. That's 0.833333333333333 HRs per game. He's on pace for 135. Even if he cools off to a more modest 0.75 HRs per game, he would end up with 5 + (.75 * 156) = 122. I'd say 120 is pretty much a lock.

Yes, Longoria can, but Nelson Cruz will beat him by 50 HR...and 40 SB.

Funny thing is, he'll do it without ever hitting more than two in the same game.

In all seriousness...

I had the 11th pick in my 12-team 5x5 mixed league. I was so nervous about pulling the trigger and picking Longoria in the first round. So far it's looking like a good pick. Of course now that I've said that, he'll go 0 for his next 30. !+)
