chis davis on waivers

Postby Lsquad » Sun Apr 12, 2009 3:33 pm

Some guy in my league just dropped chris davis. I'm really considering picking him up, but I do have concerns. My league counts strikeouts (also hits and total bases plus the typical categories) and davis might push me over the top in that category. also, how real is this slump? Is there somthing mechnical or is he not seeing the ball? Also, who should I drop? the obvious answer would be alex gordon, but a struggling Upton might be an option. Weiters is also a non-productive asset, but I think i want to hold on to him. I could also drop a pitcher since I'm deep there, but none of them are really dropable. If i make the claim, who should I drop?

heres my roster:
C: Innetta
1b: Prince
2b: utley
ss: hanley
3b: gordon
of: rios
of: ellsbury
of: chris young
util: votto
util:tulowitzki
bn: j.upton
bn: wieters
dl: Arod

Pitchers: Haren, Billingsley, Hernandez, kazmir, vazquez, grienke, gallardo, harang, sherill, and mike gonzalez

also, milledge and either are avialible, are they upgrades over upton?

I would pick up Ethier And Davis for Upton and Gordon. If you are gonna have a slumping 3B might as well have one with huge upside. Although some are high on Milledge, I think Ethier is in a great situation in LA and should put up some nice stats. Even without coming out blazing he's still put up some decent stats.

Agreed. I'd drop Gordon & Upton for Davis & Either. Both Davis & Either are in much better lineups.

pickup davis and laugh in their face when he turns it around. he hits in a big time hitters park you know. either is cleanup for dodgers? why in the world is he on waivers.

I would drop gordon and grab davis. Gordon will have his share of K's and slumps, so you may as well grab the guy with enormous potential in davis.

Put in claims for both, though I doubt I'll get both. The guy dropped Ethier for church, which I suppose could work out, though its not a move I'd make. And his dropping davis wasn't totally rediculous. he has chipper and lee at the corners, and did get some decent pitching. he's aggresive, but I don't mind taking advatage of that, anyway, thanks for the help.

Definitely drop Gordon for Davis.

Besides the reasons already mentioned, Gordon is nicked up already..the specifics escape me but something about his hip and he has missed time.

Davis isn't doing anything now either (trust me, I have him on 2 teams) but he'll get it together. Maybe not 40 plus HR like some people think but I see more upside there.

Help?

Well, got out waivered on Davis, and grabbed swisher instead of Ethier, I think the yankees have to find a spot for him even after Tex comes back. The guy that picked up Davis dropped Hafter though. He has some pretty big upside, but his hogging a util spot is troubling. I'm thinking of dropping Harang for him though, since my league counts BBs and HRs against, which creates something of a natural innings cap. Its a ten team league so pitching can be had, and adding a potentally elite bat couldn't hurt. agree?
