Wrist tendinitis...don't only old people have that?
On a more serious note, how likely is this injury to keep him out on a weekly basis? I understand that rest is the best cure for tendinitis along with a cortisone shot, but the latter causes the tendon to get weaker if done consistently. Lastly, if he decides to play through it when his wrist is inflamed, will that cause him to lose power?
I had tendonitis in my elbow, shoulder, and wrist all at the same time..fun!
Basically it's just overuse and additional wear on the tendon. I work on a computer using my right hand 90% of the time plus play darts every day, surf the Web at home, etc..I'm 35 and I've had it hit me on and off for 4-5 years now so it's not just an old person's thing.
It's probably something he can play through. The power may be affected slightly but I don't think night and day necessarily.
I've taken 2 cortisone shots in my life so not the most informed on that part of it but I know doctors use them sparingly..one can also take anti-inflammatory meds, heat, etc..
