Gotta drop one Motte/C.Perez

Postby IronBird » Sat Apr 11, 2009 5:15 pm

I need to free up a roster spot. I currently have Villanueva in my last closer position for next week. But now I'm looking beyond next week. Got Motte and Chris Perez on the bench. Should I just let go of Motte and hope that Perez gets the call up in the next couple of weeks? Or drop Perez and hope that Motte starts to put it together?

My league is very knowledgable and jumps on potential before performance so if I drop Perez, I'm pretty sure someone else would snatch him up this week. Or just forget about the closer situation in STL altogether?

if you could post your league settings, roster and reason for dropping one or the other, we'd be better able to give you our two cents. there are really too many variables as is.

12 team H2H, Cats - Wins, Saves, K's, Innings, ERA, WHIP - 6 starters, 3 relief

Starters
Peavy
Nolasco
Harang
W.Rodriquez
Eveland
O.Perez
Purcey
Baker (IR)
Kuroda (IR)

Relief
Broxton
Morrow
Villanueva
C.Perez/Motte

Bats Cats - Avg., OPS, HR, SB, RBI, R, BB, start 1 @ each of the 8 positions + 2 Util.
R. Martin - C
Pujols - 1B
Ishikawa - 1B
Kinsler - 2B
Peralta/K. Greene - SS
Gordon/I. Stewart (also 2B) - 3B
Holliday - LF
A.Jones/Ankiel - CF
Abreu/Church - RF
Werth - RF/CF/LF eligible

Back to the question at hand, who would you drop on this team? I'm one over on the roster limit and I plan to drop Villanueva when Baker comes back, about the same time he loses his closer role, which is why I need to hold onto one of the relievers. Besides the title characters, Greene is also on my chopping block. I like Ishikawa's potential, want to hold on to him.

WHIR, post a link...
