Santana is going to start throwing off a mound. He was throwing off a flat surface and suffered no setbacks. If he doesn't have any setbacks off the mound I believe he may begin some rehab assignments in the minors. It still may be a few weeks though.
I own both in my keeper league representing my 20th and 21st rounds for next year. I like this play fr the second half of the season and for late round keepers for next year.
BUT my team is currently in 10th out of 12 teams and that may be a indication of what kind of team manager endorses this strategy. My patience better pay off! And my other pitchers better start doing something or it will be a long season! Stupid verlander, hoffman, hamels, balnton and jenks - all blew up in week one!
My heart hurts....

There's no reason for you to be holding on to guys like Maine, Parra, and Jiminez in a 10-team league. I'd drop any of them for Santana, who has a much stronger upside. And you've still got 6-7 legit pitchers you can start any week.
I haven't updated my roster lately. My SP are now: Johan, Webb, Felix, Burnett, Meche, Nolasco, Kershaw, Galaragga, Davies, Jimenez, Escobar, E. Santana. I dropped Maholm, figured all kinds of good guys on the WW to pick from. I am just going to play without a catcher, with -1 for every K most catchers other than the upper 4 or so score less than 10 points a week anyways. Just waiting on Weiters, then I will have a good one.
C- Hundley, Iannetta 1b- Wallace 2b- Barney/Barmes 3b- J. Lopez CO- G. Sanchez SS- Tulo MI- Castro OF- Bay, Hart, Pagan, Smith, Francisco, Ankiel U- C. Ross(DL), Cantu P- Carpent, Billings, Volquez, Marcum, Norris, J. Vazquez, Westbrook, Wolf, E Rogers
Am i reading that right - no catcher - drop a pitcher and reserve weiters and pick up baker for marlins - never go without a starter!!! Baker will be available and he is raking right now

Is this the same setback that was reported already...the one on Friday where he just needed a few days more rest and didnt think it was serious? He was to throw yesterday or today after that one and wasnt too worried.

Gammons said "again." I am hoping nothing happened today, but I should know better than to listen to Baseball Tonight. I have seen nothing on RotoTimes or World.

Just answered my own question...its the same one as a few days ago. Doesnt seem too serious...I remember him saying it wasnt in the repaired area so he wasnt too worried. Here is what I found reported on MLB.com today...
Escobar had a setback last weekend in his recovery from shoulder surgery but feels he's still way ahead of schedule in his attempt to get back in the rotation by next month.
"Escobar feels good," Scioscia said. "I believe if he's not playing catch today or tomorrow, it's going to be in the next couple days. He's feeling much better, though."
Escobar said he was "real sore" after throwing on Saturday, adding that he sees no reason to force it and risk reinjuring his right shoulder after making so much progress.
He said his plan is to "take it easy this week and do treatment and go from there."
"Right now, I can throw," he said. "But because I don't want to push it and make it [more] damaged and lose more time, it's better to take the safe way and be careful.
"Before, every time I got my arm up to throw, I felt a chop like a chop going through my shoulder. I'm being honest with myself and letting them know how I feel, because I'm so ahead of schedule. At the same time, I don't want to let emotion take over. I just want to be safe."
