he was cruising until the 5th. probably 50 pitches thru 4 with 3Ks. after getting, I believe, one out in the 5th, he couldn't throw strikes all of a sudden, giving up 3 or 4 BBs, including 2 with bases loaded. Then he had Alexei Ramirez at 1-2 with 2 outs and kept calling off the change-up for his fastball and after Alexei fouled a couple off, he smacked the next one for a 2 run double and Liriano was relieved.

he didn't look bad, but wouldn't throw much of his change and kept going after the inside corner that the ump just would not call a strike -- a little stubborn and that's what did him in, I think Liriano was as surprised as anyone at how fast it happened.
