Should I drop Delmon Young for Maybin, Spilborghs, Snider, Teahen, Helton, Konerko
or possibly a pitcher such as Cahill, Uehara, or J Sanchez (SF)
This is a standard 5x5 roto keeper league Roster: C-Inge, Martin, 1b-Votto, 2nd-Kinsler, 3rd-Zimmerman, SS-Peralta, CI-Encarnacion, MI-Pedroia, OF-Hamilton, Bay, Markakis, Victorino, Choo, Util-Hardy Bench-Sandoval, Wieters, Ian Stewart, D Young
Delmon Young is garbage. In my 12 team, 5 man keeper league he is a FA. I would take either Spil, Snider or Maybin...although Im not sure how Maybin is a FA in a keeper league.
Nice team. I would drop Delmon Young for most of those guys. Your offense is so stacked, that guys like Teahen, Helton, Snider, and to a lesser extent, Konerko don't have a good shot at cracking your starting lineup unless an injury hits. (Depending on what you want out of your UTIL, Konerko might be a slight upgrade over Hardy.) Spilborghs, while a possible 20/20 threat with high average, doesn't look like he's going to get the full 550 AB's, and therefore isn't as valuable as Maybin. Because of this, I would take the guy with the most upside, which would probably be Maybin. Even though he'll most likely experience growing pains this year to the tune of something like .260/12/20, he could very well be primed for a breakout in 2010. Since it's a keeper league (and I don't know how many you can keep), if you're looking ahead to next year, I would drop Young for Maybin. If you are trying to win this year at all costs though, I would drop Young for either Konerko or Spilborghs (if there's an injury in the Rockies OF that opens up playing time) and slot that guy in at UTIL at the expense of Hardy.
