Extra Relievers....whir

Postby Darth Danielus » Fri Apr 10, 2009 1:51 pm

Hey guys,

I've got 5 closers - one of whom is street in colorado...and I drafted both him and corpas before that situation was settled. Now I'm wondering if I'd be better off with either chris ray, or chris perez instead of the huston street insurance policy in manny corpas. Basically - which of these guys is most valuable/safest bet to take over the closer role.
Thanks.

I'd hold on to Corpas. Ray has not looked good yet, and it could be a long while before (if) he takes over. As a Cards fan, I'd stay far away from the StL closer situation.

Yeah ray has not looked good at all but he just did a little bit of pitching so far, maybe he will get better.

I would take the risk and pick up ray. Sherrill will lose that job in no tie.

i think sherrill is on a much shorter leash than street. ray looked pretty bad against NYY, but ultimately i'd put my money on sherrill losing the job first.

Any other thoughts at this late hour? I think I may have someone coming off the DL soon, so I need to make the move asap.

I would definately go with ray...the cardinals look to be going closer by committee (from a STL fan perspective) and i think sherill will lose his job first

ray over corpas? (I have zumaya on the DL aswell....thinking he might get a crack at the closer spot soon too...but I'd like to keep him on the DL until he does...)

Thanks.
