Hitters -- Free agents to Target

Postby Moss84 » Thu Apr 09, 2009 10:08 pm

12 team mixed keeper league

Hitter scoring -- 5x5 scoring --
1 pt per single, rbi, run, sb, bb, hbp -- doubles worth 2 pts, triples 3 pts, HRs 4 pts,

Who would be your top three to target from these available hitters:

Adam Lind -- Toronto #5 hitter behind Vern Wells
Travis Snider (Tor) -- top prospect -- power upside but hitting 9th ?
Denard Span (Min) -- leadoff hitter
Dexter Fowler (Col) -- top prospect -- splitting time ?
Ryan Spilborghs (Col) -- lead off hitter
Emilio Bonfiacio (Fla-3b) -- on fire
Adam LaRoche (Pit - 1b)
Aaron Rowand (SF)
Kosuke Fukudome (cubs)

Thanks for your insights -- I'll answer yours.

Adam Lind
Ryan Spilborghs (Col)
Denard Span (Min)

That's how I'd rank them. But it really depends on what you need. If you need Power, bump Snider back up. If you need SB, bump Boni back up. But overall, I think I like these 3 the best.

My top 3 from that list would be Lind, Bonifacio, and Spilborghs in that order. It would help to see the rest of your team to see what you need though.

Lind
Fowler
Snider

All you had to say was keeper, lol.

Extra base hits are worth more than steals so I don't like Bonifacio. Lind is coming into his own and before you know it Snider will be in the middle of that lineup. I put Fowler before him because he can hit and the power will come... maybe not this year but when it does you can expect 15-20 hrs and a lot of doubles in Coors.

Snider is a no-doubt keeper if you have enough of them, and Fowler could play his way in there as well. Those are the top two.

Is Lind worth blowing a # 1 waiver priority on?

No. Save that #1 Waiver spot for a SP that gets called up mid-season. I agree with the board, depends on what you need - runs and sb's go with span and bonfiacio - power go with snider, he won't sit in the 9 spot for long.
