Which of these trades was the worst?

Postby chem » Thu Apr 09, 2009 9:14 pm

4 trades that have went down in my league so far, and I'm interested in hearing rants about them. Because that's something the internet is good at! haha. Team names have been changed in all cases to X and Y to protect the innocent:

Thu, Apr 9
6:22 PM Transaction
X traded J.J. Hardy, Mil SS to Y
X traded Jeff Suppan, Mil SP to Y
X traded Andrew Miller, Fla SP to Y
Y traded Emilio Bonifacio, Fla 2B to X
Y traded Chad Tracy, Ari 1B to X
Y traded Dave Bush, Mil SP to X

Sun, Apr 5
7:57 PM Transaction
X traded Brian Giles, SD RF to Y
Y traded Garret Anderson, Atl LF to X

Sat, Apr 4
6:18 PM Transaction
X traded Emmanuel Burriss, SF 2B to Y
X traded Chris Young, SD SP to Y
Y traded Conor Jackson, Ari 1B to X

Sat, Apr 4
1:25 AM Transaction
X traded Fred Lewis, SF LF to Y
X traded Jeremy Hermida, Fla RF to Y
X traded Joe Blanton, Phi SP to Y
Y traded Brad Hawpe, Col RF to X
Y traded Ryan Spilborghs, Col LF to X
Y traded Rich Aurilia, SF 3B to X

I included the date/time for each because I think that's part of judging the trade. Hindsight is always 20/20 :)

At a glance, I don't see any of them as being particularily bad...though I'm not considering them all together....I guess the first one (hardy.)

These trades are pretty blase. Are they different teams involved in trades? Even if the same two teams, nothing real noteworthy. Has this been keeping you up at night? Hope not.

good luck

:-? I don't have any issues with these trades. Different managers value different players differently (I was trying to fit 'different' in that sentence one more time...)

What are your thoughts/concerns??

Basically, all first-time FB players involved in these trades, and I was concerned about any of them giving away too much. I guess things are okay though, thanks for the replies.

I wasn't struck by any obvious disparities. "I wouldn't have made that deal" is not the same as "this is a bad trade".

How deep is the league? I just see a lot of junk for junk trades in a 12 teamer.
