Too Much Outfield Depth? Need Help WHIR

Postby X-Factor611 » Thu Apr 09, 2009 7:43 pm

I feel like i have too many outfielders. my roster consists of...
Nick Markakis
Nate McClouth
Jay Bruce
Adam Jones
Nelson Cruz
Lastings Milledge

my problem is i wish i could start 5 of my 6 outfielders but i cant. I'm thinking of trading one of them for a pitcher.
Who should i trade? Who would give me the best value in return.

I don't plan on trading Markakis, but the other 5 i have no trouble parting with for the right price.

It would help to see your roster, the # of OFers you CAN start, and your league settings.

Personally, I'm high on Markakis, Bruce, Adam Jones and Nelson Cruz. The others are fine, I just like these better.

One piece of advice. I wouldn't rule any guy as 'untouchable'. Any player should be available, for a price.

McClouth is a guy that I would dangle in a trade for a top-end SP. He has great 'name' value based off of last's years break-out. He should net you the most value in return. Pairing him with Lastings Milledge's breakout 'upside value' could bring in some fantastic combination of pitching! ;-D

I agree, if you dont want to trade Markakis, then I would go with McClouth as you would be able to get the most in return for him. I really like Cruz for this year so I think making space for you to be able to start him is a good idea.

I agree with those who've suggested offering McClouth in a trade. I grabbed him off waivers last year and loved what I got, but I'm not 100% on him matching the numbers he put up. I'm high on Markakis like you and I think between Cruz and Bruce you should get some great offensive output. I'd also look at Lastings if another team is high on him.

Good luck!

Depends on what you want. If you can get Tulo, I say go for it! I think he is gonna have a great year while McLouth will decline..
But if you want a pitcher I would definitely try to trade McLouth.

Thanks for the help with mine!
