i know. i'm so glad he's in the data base so i don't have to play the "whose waiver claim is higher" game once the hype machine starts rolling.

I don't think he'll be called up unless someone in the rotation gets hurt. All the other SP are vets, and Kawakimi was just signed.

He's definitely worth monitoring, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Hanson might get called up for relief though, if the Braves keep blowing away leads like they did against the Phillies though.

According to MLB.com, Tom Glavine will make the dreaded trip to Birmingham, Alabama to meet with Dr. James Andrews on Wednesday concerning his left shoulder. Glavine injured the shoulder while swinging a bat during his minor league rehab start on Sunday.

Our View:Any time a player pays Dr. Andrews a visit, it is never a good sign. Owners should keep a close eye on the outcome of this visit and plan your lineups accordingly.


Any chance he gets called up to fill in?? He made his last start on thursday...

I think MLB.com said that Jo-Jo Reyes was getting called up to start. Like the rest of us, I would love it if Hanson were called up, as he and Wieters are rotting away on my bench right now, but I think they are going to keep him down there at least until May or June.

I think it will take a serious setback for Glavine AND ineffectiveness from whoever the 5th starter is before Hanson is called up earlier.

As long as Hanson continues to dominate in AAA, he should be up at some point in the summer...hopefully.

I'm riskfully carrying Hanson and Chris Perez right now in my 9 team NL-Only 30 player team (btw I made up the word riskfully) and I'm really hoping both of them get called up soon, but Perez is much more likely simply due to Hanson's young age and the Braves plethora of mediocre pitchers with some upside such as Jorge Campillo (who will likely get the next start if Glavine's unavailible), Jo Jo Reyes, and Tom Glavine. There's no denying that Hanson's stuff is straight filthy, and bringing him up as a long reliever wouldn't be the Braves worst idea, but if they are strictly trying to mold him into their next ace, which is the most likely their number one option, they will allow him to get his starts in at the minor league level, build confidence, and let him explode sometime after the All-Star break.
