Thought I would give him his own thread since he has a starting gig and says he feels the best he has felt in a while.

Carl seems to be very happy now that he is allowed to wear his facial hair again. This guy killed me a few years back, now I drafted him with my last pick in round 31, maybe he gets comeback player of the year?

Maybe he can stay healthy and give me 150+ IP with a sub 4 & 12+ wins, LOL!

Well that's great to hear he feels the best he has in a while, cause um he hasn't pitched any meaningful innings since 2005. :-S

Really this is a guy who has only had an era under 4.21 once, only had a whip under 1.26 once, and in his only good year to speak of, K's just 139. If you look up mediocre in the dictionary there should be a picture of him next to it. The only reason why people will remember him at all is because of how terrible the Yankees were to throw him a big contract like that did.

Yeh, Carl was the first in recent memory to sign a "Zito" contract, atleast that is what me and my buddies call contracts like Pavano signed.

I am just saying that I am into the mental part of the game and he sounds like a new man, we will see, starting tonight.

Pavano signed a $40 million dollar contract and Zito signed a $126 million dollar contract. Not really comparable.

Pavano signed a $40 million dollar contract and Zito signed a $126 million dollar contract. Not really comparable.

Zito's contract is of monolithic proportions. Pavano's was just like a 4 year wait and the Yankees made the play offs in spite of him.
