A nice early game. Should be a good win for CIN with 2HR each from Votto and Phillips.

whats the deal with Dickseron? is he in a strict platoon? McDonald getting the start today against a LH pitcher instead of LH Dickseron. i wasnt surprised by the first game against Santana since he is one of the top pitchers in baseball, but not starting against Oliver Perez? come on Baker.
its not like Dickseron sucked against LH pitching last season, with a line of- 14 G/21 AB - .286 AVG/ .423 OBP/ .429 SLG/ .852 OPS/ ..compared to McDonald career vs LH - 12 G/31 AB - .194 AVG/ .219 OBP/ .226 SLG/ .445 OPS/
McDonald is borderline even being on the team, he should be strictly a backup and Dickerson should be the starter.

Don't tell me that the CIN ground crew over-watering the infield was accidental. Home field advantage is great but that is just uneccesary. Ollie looked good that first inning but kind of concerning his mph is still down.

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Sure. The Mets used to do it. But it's not that prevalent today and this was ridiculous.
