Mulder has about the same strikeouts and wins with a considerably better ERA (Colon is typically in the high 3s or low 4s while Mulder appears to be low-to-mid 3 kind of guy) and a better WHIP.
I think it's as simple as that.

Mulder is also more consistant. Colon can lose it and get bombed every now and then, then comeback and strike out 17 in the next game. Mulder is 8+ innings, 2-3 runs.

Mulder is also the master in complete games. Colon is more of a 6 inn pitcher.

colon had nine complete games last year and 8 the year before. he is pretty durable guy that pitches fairly long into the game.

You take mulder for the era-and whip totals...... hes proven to be more consistant.... his strikeout total will be lower than b.c this year.

thats what I would say but Mulder will probably end up with a few less strikeouts then Colon...
