Jarrod Saltalamacchia
In the 8th inning Salty kinda staggered and had some dizzyness due to an ear infection.
Taylor Teagarden is scheduled to play tonight anyway, so no harm, no foul.
Mark Kotsay
The Boston Herald says that Mark is due to report to extended Spring Training to take some swings from actual pitchers!
Due date first of May
John Smoltz
Smoltz it due to start making hitters look bad This week in minor league ball.
All reports indicate he is throwing really well and should be back in June.
The Braves may regret this one.....
Mike Redmond
The Star Tribune says that Mark will start the game today despite the strained right groin he suffered in the season opener.
Apparently the injury does not stop his catching or hitting, but he is at less than full speed when running.
Ichiro Suzuki
The Seattle Times reports that the blood tests are back and the bleeding ulcer is getting better.
He is DHing today in an extended Spring Training game. He should be there for 2 or 4 games and then reevaluated.
If all is well he will be back with the team when they return from Oakland.
B.J. Upton
BJ is playing a minor league game tonight in Charolotte and will play 2 more before returning on April 12th.
Chien-Ming Wang
Wang (giggle) is not hurt (giggle) but his mechanics resemble a folding lawnchair. He will spend some time in with the pitching coach to get that under control. Until then look for a nice rising action in his sinker.
Matt Holliday
Matt is still fighting off some stomach issues and is running a fever according to the A's official propaganda page.
He may be ready to play or he may pinch hit. Game time call based on Holliday who may take another Holliday, or not.
CLiff Lee
Lee is not having any problems with his forearm aftering being struck there in the season opener - so says the Akron Beacon.
After being hit he turned into one of those pitching machines at the arcade and gave up 4 runs.
Joey Devine
The San Franciso Chronicle reports that Joey visited Dr. James "Death" Andrews Weds and the good Dr. ordered more testing.
Not looking good here kiddies.
Jason Bay
Jason continued to show class and manners when questioned about a pitch he was stuck out on late in the game
-The Boston Herald says.
Bay said the game was umpired fairly, (but on tv the pitch was a good 5 inches outside and low.) with 2 on and 1 out it most likley effected the outcome of the game.
Jered Weaver
Jered is scheduled to drop the sandwich (recovering from a stiff back and shoulder) and start today.
Jered says he is ready to go - The Los Angelos Times reports.
Jorge Cantu
The Miami Herald reports that Jorge injured his left thand in the 7th innning on Weds night. He stayed in the game and x-rays came back negative. Day to day.
Trevor Hoffman
The HOFF still does not have a projected return date for joining the Brewers.
The Milwaukee Journal says he will throw off flat ground Thursday.
Chipper Jones
The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation reported that Chipper was a scratch for the Weds night game due to a bruised thumb and some swelling. Chipper says that he will play Friday in the Home opener.
Brandon Backe
According to the Houston Chronicle Backe throw off the mound Weds.
After 40 or so pitches he said he felt good.
50 more on Friday and they will see how he is feeling.
Brandon Webb
The Arizona Republic reports that Webb felt good on Tues. and felt like crap on Weds.
This freaked out the Dback so much they dropped him from the next start.
After they find out how Brandon feels today they will decide if he is to have an MRI or not.
Willy Taveras
Willy is not Willy cause Willy is sick.
The Journal News reports that Dusty said it was a new strain of flu, and that there is no specific time table for him to return.
UPDATE* Willy is Willy again Mugging for cameras, hitting, running, gettin all the chicks..
Geovany Soto
The Chicago (bang bang) Tribune reports that the team doctor will take a look at Geo Thursday.
But Lou P. says he is just being careful and that Geo should be ready to suit up in a few days.
There are no plans for an MRI - so thats good news. Ice and rest.
Tim Lincecum
Apparently they have found the Kryptonite to Tim "Superman" Lincecum and it involves distraction?
The Contra Costa Times says that after talking with Bengie Molina Tim's real problem was that the Brewers played a mental game on Tim. "They put runners in motion, they danced off the bag, worked him into deep counts" - (sounds like normal baseball to me but I am a girl...)
Manny Corpas
The word is out on why Manny didnt win the Closer job for the Rockies.
The Denver Post reports that in Spring he was topping out at 90mph and the Rockies were not happy with the lost MPH.
Tuesday he was hitting 94 after a change in his deliver mechanics. Radar this one.
