Is anyone actually watching the game? From the boxscore, Volstad settled in but throwing 92 pitches and 42 of them being for balls is not sparkling.

I'm watching the game. Volstad wasn't top of his game, but he was definitely good. After the first inning he really cooled down, stopped showing dissapointment and anger on the mound, and just went with it. He wasn't getting all his calls but he was spotting the ball decently and his pitches had great movement on them. His curve was killer.

I think Volstad's a great value pick. I'd buy low. But then again, the Nats are hardly the be-all end-all of hitting.

Anybody know why Cantu was taken out? Just a routine pinch hitter/substitution or was it something else?

rotowire:
Cantu left Wednesday's game against the Nats after getting hit by a pitch on the left hand.
Spin:
Ross Gload replaced Cantu in the game. No word on the diagnosis yet, but he went to get examined immediately after leaving the game.

<expletive> - hope it's nothing serious, I might have to rely on Melvin Mora off the waiver wire.

any official word on Milledge? He's probably more valuable to my team right now by not playing, but anyways....

He could make a fist walking off field. I wouldn't be too worried.
