H2H Strategy

I have read almost everywhere that you should not punt saves in roto. You should at least grab some lower end closers to stay in the mix. Would the same be true for H2H with daily roster changes. I had Foulke and last year. A great combo in my opinion. However, some weeks I would get 5-7 saves. Others I would get 0. My thought was that in a H2H league it might make more sense to punt saves and focus on other categories where saves can vary so much from week to week. Any thoughts?

First year in fantasy h2h baseball, but I'm of the opinion that punting any cat. is a bad idea. All you need is 2 RP's to have a chance in saves, and even if you don't have that from the get-go there will always be good options developing on FA throughout the season. Don't start off at a disadvantage just pay more attention to other cats. right now if you feel there aren't alot of good saves guys available

i agree that punting is not a good idea. it's because we think we can win in other categories but there should never be that assumption. try them all. you got 6 months to improve...

Well, in HTH with 7 or more pitching categories I agree with you. You can punt them and get away with it, since they now count that much less than regular.
In fact, not drafting bad closers (Graves, Kolb, etc) and guys who only get stolen bases (Roberts, Sanchez, etc) is actually a pretty good strategy in 10x10 leagues, since they usually will get picked way before they should. Those one-cat guys in a 10-cat offensive league are negative dollar earners.
