Anyone know what the deal is? Why in the world would he take a back seat to the other Cards OFs? He played in 152 games last year, I was kind of expecting the same this year.

Too many OF'ers on the Cards roster, Colby Rasmus needs to get some playing time sometime. I think we're going to see all the OF'ers rotated in and out of the lineup quite a bit thru out most of the season. Ludwick will get his share of AB's though.

In a 10 team shallow mixed league (weekly roster moves), is it worth it to have Ludwick in your every day lineup, knowing that he will rake WHEN he plays? Or should I sub in someone that might not put up the same numbers....but will play everyday?

it's going to be interesting so see how this plays out. The didn't bring Rasmus up to ride the pine, and Duncan looks healthy again. Unless someone gets hurt, I would expect all 4 OFs to have regular days off so that all 4 can get plenty of playing time. If you own a Cardinal OF'er you may want to bookmark the stltoday website and check in pre-game for lineups for daily transactions.

A poster on the Cbs Sportsline website is claiming that Ludwick missed the game because his wife was having a baby.
Frantically scanning the web for confirmation...I'll post again if I find anything solid.

The Cardinals' official website disputes the poster's claim. Looks like that was speculation (read: made-up rumor). My bad...

He was the pre-game interview here locally on Fox Sports Midwest. He was there and was fine.
He was something like 1-for-11 lifetime against Snell.

Well, that's a good reason to not have him in there then. Poor career numbers vs. Snell along with there being a logjam of OF's on the team sounds like a good time to give him a night off to me.
