...but to get to your question, I think he is a good end of the draft pickup, 16-18 might be a stretch but like alot of opther pitchers of his caliber the potential is certainly there

brett myers will do well in the first couple months, but will absolutely slay them in the second half. he's got some good teachers around him in millwood, padilla, milton and wolf...and a great offense and bullpen to garauntee some Ws.

I like drafting players who will surprise and then the following year become sought after. Myers will be one of those players. Next year he will be drafted within the first 6 rounds. I see 17-18W 185K - 3.85era...easily, especially pitching in the 5 spot.
Myers really showed me something last year. If he can take another step forward, and there's no reason to think he won't, he'll be a stud. As far as young up and comers go, I've got him ranked right behind Jake Peavy and Carlos Zambrano.

pre all star break: 3.65 era, 1.23 whip, .237 baa
post all star break 5.72 era, 1.82 whip, .325 baa
well it was his first full season in the majors, and he threw pretty much 200 IP. my guess would be he just got worn done and didn't have the endurance his first year.
I think Myers is a good sleeper. I think 16-18 wins might be too much to ask for. 12-14 seems more reasonable with an era around 4.
1) that's easy, THE CUBS WIN THE SERIES!!! ok, sorry, I couldnt' resist...
2) I'm not sure about Myers, I had him last year and had a very hard time guessing which teams he'd smoke. He'd toss a great game, I'd stick him in and he'd get killed so back to the bench and another great game. Some may have been my problem but he just did not work out. An ok performance every week is probably better for H2H than a good/ bad roller coaster!
He's still on the waiver wire though, certainly worth keeping an eye on...
