Picking up Ks. Who to target? WHIR!!

Postby mjoyce103 » Tue Apr 07, 2009 6:52 pm

I'm in a 12 team, 5x5 roto league. My current SPs are Kazmir, Nolasco, Billingsly, Bedard, Wong, and Kuroda. As you can see, I should be decent in ERA, WHIP, etc. but I'm probably going to get a little beat up in Ks. As of right now I'm not looking to do anything like trade a guy for a high K type (Vazquez, for example) but would rather either pick up a good match up here and there for some guys who are prone to high K numbers or grab a mid-season call up who should rack them up.

Any suggestions on people who should be floating around the waiver wire or who are looking to get called up mid-season that I should put a flag on?

Post your links and I'll help you out!

I assume you mean Wang and not Wong. I don't think you'll be bad at K. Kaz, Billingsley and Nolasco should get you a lot. Assuming he stays healthy, Bedard should have good Ks as well. Wang and Kuroda don't have great K/9. No idea who's still available in your league, but some starting pitchers that may be out there that could help include: T. Lilly, G. Meche, W. Rodriguez, U. Jiminez, R. Wolf, O. Perez, I. Snell, J. Sanchez, J. Delarosa. You could also look at MRs with high K/9 like HC Kuo. Also keep you eye on whether Pedro signs anywhere.

Hope that's a bit helpful.
