Lincecum Taken out after 3 innings

Postby Mortician » Tue Apr 07, 2009 5:52 pm

Got his pitch count way too high 3 IP 2R 4H 3BB 5K..... Not a good start to the season for the consensus #1 SP (although I had Johan #1, Lincecum #2) With his high number of innings last year for a 23 yr old, he's gonna have to keep his pitch counts down to be effective at the end of this year.

I've got that game on right now on MLB.TV and yeah I'm a little concerned about it. But I hope it's not a big deal just poor command in his first start. The Brewers have some guys that can swing the bats though and they were patient with him today. I'm sure he'll pitch again this weekend though vs. the Padres to get back on track (everyone does vs. the Padres!!).

It was rainy, it was cold, it was delayed, then it was pushed up, it was start #1, etc etc etc.

Nothing to worry about at all.
