Motte Blown Save

Just wondering who should be looked at for other save opportunities in St. Louis?

Ha, couldn't he at least have had an outing like this in spring training, to give everyone fair warning? Guess it's hard to close with one pitch, unless you're mariano rivera.

To answer your question, Franklin immediately and look for Perez to get called up at some point. Maybe Motte gets another chance down the road, but I'd be surprised if he gets the next opp. This was a pretty big blowup.

Chuckle Chuckle....

Apologies from me also... Thank goodness Perez didn't get 50 innings so I still have him in the minors but I was able to snatch Franklin for a buck in the auction.

Even with Motte's outstanding spring I was a bit surprised Larussa gave Motte the job right out of the box considering how careful he seemed to be with Perez in 2008.

I just watched Motte blow this game against the Pirates. That was all I had to see from my 3rd RP. I cut his a$$-picked up Escobar, put him on the DL then...turned around and picked up Pettitte too ;-D

Are people moving on Perez and Franklin again? Its only one game but Motte really only has one pitch and he is so inexperienced.

Yeah guys-it really concerns me that Pittsburgh was able to knock him around at home in the opener. He's got but one pitch and once the league sees his film he's gonna really have to pull it together. I cant image what better lineups will do against him. If he came out and K'd the side I'd be praising him and myself for the foresight.
He's a great story-I feel bad about his debut-but I'm glad I have other options.
