Do you think Griffey is done?

I think that the one thing that you people that think that Griffey will do well have to remember is that he started declining before he was injured. From 98-2000 (when he was still playing full seasons), his HR dropped from 56 to 48 to 40. His Avg has gone from 304 to 284 to 285 to 271. His SBs went from 20 to 24 to 6.
Bottom line is that he will never be the same player he once was. He's always hurt, he was already in a decline, and he's unhappy where he is. I wouldn't waste the last pick in the draft on him.

:-B Repost from "Roto World'

"Ken Griffey Jr. had three homers and drove in six runs today.
Griffey hit solo home runs in the first and third innings off Kris Benson and had a grand slam in the fifth off Julian Tavarez. He is 7-for-16 with four homers this spring."

Bet I can talk him up to say 7th or 8th rounder.

Hey Arlo....... Can we have just a Ken Griffey Jr. Forum.
I'll Keep it updated.

Also can you please put at the top of the website...

Griffey is healthy finally and will get over 40 bombs.

I think one positive thing about Griffey this year is that he's finally recognized he's got a reoccuring injury problem, and he's worked a lot on his flexibility in the offseason to prevent it from happening. If Griffey can stay injury free, he can definitely come back to superstar status.

What? People saying Griffey isn't worth the last pick in a draft? I'd rather have Griffey as my #3 outfeilder than such people as Ellis Burks, Tim Salmon, Jermaine Dye, Kevin Millar to name a few... all of whome are ranked higher than Griffey (at least on a free list I downloaded).

If you have a DL slot, and can get Griffey late, no doubt take him. When healthy he's worth the risk. Just like Kevin Brown. Just like Larry Walker.

However, you have to be careful not to get too many "injury risk" players. Having two on a roster is managable, but any more than that and you're asking for trouble. It's not like he's like Jeromy Burntiz who declined from a 960 OPS to a .679 OPS in 3 years... Griffey has gone from 950 to 750 over 4 years, but the last two were with some pretty bad hamstring injuries. He's already shown in spring he's healthy, so is definetly worth a shot in the mid rounds. If you can get him past the last 1/3 of the draft, you got a steal.

And forget about trying to trade for him now... after spring, anyone that did get him is going to way overvalue him.
