with the below piddling options available in FA, is it time to cut bait on Napoli? Mathis is starting for a reason i assume...

He is still coming back from injury and only played a game or two at catcher during spring so relax. He will get his.

he was playing back to back games at the end of ST and he sits the first two of the regular season? ungood.

its not like we are talking about arod here. not starting the first 2 games of the season is enough for me to drop him. and the more vlad has to dh, the more napoli will be forced into a timeshare with mathis. and sciosia likes mathis too. yeah he hit 20 hrs in 220 abs last year and people talk about his potential over a season (which i agree with), but the fact is that he wont get more than 250 abs the whole season and will probably sit about half the time. id go with someone like inge who plays everyday over him at this point.

remember - napoli was hitting .212 on sep 5 last year - he was superhot the last few weeks of the season to boost his avg into the 270s. he's a career .248 hitter - only .10 better than inge who plays everyday.

You guys are also forgetting Juan Rivera. I doubt the bulk of Napoli's AB's will be at DH.

to be honest, im stuck on what to do here...only 3 bench spots for bats in my league, so no chance id carry 2 catchers...Inge is still available...oh man
